FARSHID

In 2012, Farshid Fathi Malayeri was sentenced to six years in an Iranian prison for action against the regime’s security, being the chief agent of foreign organisations, and administrating funds for them. He’s a prominent church leader, and although he faced political charges, he was really being punished for his choice of faith. But next Wednesday, there could be a chance to free him.

Solitary confinement for over 100 days

Wednesday 20 March is Iranian New Year – traditionally a time when the Iranian Government releases some political prisoners. What we need is a world-wide campaign calling for Farshid to be released.

After Farshid’s first arrest in 2010, he was kept in solitary confinement for over 100 days. Arrested during raids targeting Christians and churches, he was detained for fourteen months before his case came to trial, and was regularly interrogated about his church activities and his contacts abroad.

Farshid is married and has two children; Rosanna is nine, and Bardia is just three. It would be wonderful if they could have their father home soon.

Please take action today – for the sake of justice and freedom, but also for Rosanna and Bardia. Thank you so much.
